My wife and I were honeymooning in Japan when her eyes locked with his. His name is Rilakkuma – it comes from combining the word “relax” with the Japanese word for “bear.” He likes to relax and eat food which are a few of my favourite hobbies, so it’s hard to blame her for finding him so attractive. I mean, she’s only human!
We first spotted him in a store in Akihabara where a shelving unit was dedicated to him and his friends and later discovered that he had his own store in Harajuku’s Kiddy Land!

One of my New Year’s resolutions is to interact more with people. I tend to be a bit introverted at times and I guess the best way to stop this is to “break the ice” and start conversations. So, every Tuesday of 2013, I’ll be posting questions and I hope you’ll share with me your answers and I will share mine as well.
Who would you describe as a “living legend” and why?

My friend Whitney crocheted (crow-shayed) up a Bean teddy bear and, at the Edmonton Comic Expo, I held a raffle to give Bean to a deserving family. Unfortunately, the first name that was drawn did not claim their prize. About a week later, I drew from the names submitted in the raffle and Troy L. of Sherwood Park, Alberta, won. Congratulations, Troy!
