So Red just rolled a natural 20 on her dexterity check for that catch. The lady with the overly excited chin follicles is now looking at Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, or Aggravated Assault, depending on the jurisdiction and the prosecutor. At least she is already in prison, but she may not qualify for this kind of super-max prison.
I don't think it was luck that she made the catch. Not sure if it's been discussed before but Red seems to be a mimic, she can do anything that others around her can do. She pulled off the dragon palm punch thingy because Woodsman could do it, she could speak and read Japanese because of the people around her and she lost it once she was no longer in their presence, hell, even the lion's roar to scare people got copied. Here she's obviously mimicking the bearded thrower's own dexterity and skill with knives.
Pretty clear that Miss Beard isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer. If she had made that roll it would have been Murder One (and she had no way of knowing that there weren't any video cameras around to record this!). And that's her best case scenario. As it is, unless she's got anything else to show us, she is now weaponless and at the Sidekick's mercy. Her better bet would have been to use the shock value of her being in place of the lion to talk long enough to delay things before attempting her own retreat. She'd've been in less trouble for just talking and the knife had just enough unknown value to be an effective deterrent to judge by Red's body language. @_@
