Legendary Woodsman

I am very fond of Nightwing. He is, essentially, the well-adjusted Batman. We all know how cool Batman can be but sometimes Bruce needs to chill out a bit. Nightwing was raised under Batman as the first Robin and he grew up to be a hero in his own right. It feels, as though, Richard Grayson gets the short end of the stick more often than not. He was the protector of Blüdhaven but then an earthquake called him back to Gotham, when he returned, they dropped a chemical monster on his city and he had to move to New York. So Batman dies (actual explanation more complicated) and Dick inherits the mantel and goes back to Gotham. And now Bruce is back and Nightwing got demoted.  Rough.

On this piece, I’m experimenting with colouring the pencils directly without the inks. There are probably many steps in Photoshop that I could have taken… hopefully the method I took doesn’t washout the overall feel of it.
